San Francisco, CA, June 22, 2012 – San Francisco magazine unveils a new design this week, announced the president and publisher, Steven Dinkelspiel. The redesigned magazine features a newly conceived front of the book; new fonts, folios, and flow; and a revised approach to its cover. The cover showcases a shirtless and paint-splattered San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl Tight End Vernon Davis.

"In recent months, we have introduced some new voices and have brought in fresh artistic talent. It is time to unleash them and let them create—with the guidance and wisdom of our longtime staff—a new version of the San Francisco magazine that has garnered many national awards and much local devotion over the years," Dinkelspiel says.

The annual Best of the Bay Area issue will come to life at San Francisco magazine's Best of the Bay Area party, which takes place on June 28 at the Metreon Cityview. Vernon Davis will be in attendance, helping celebrate the new issue design and supporting Family House, the beneficiary for the event. What's new:
An expanded TALK section that features in-depth profiles of local newsmakers, inside scoops on the tech scene, street polls on burning topics of the day, experts' weekend travel ideas, and provocative criticism and coverage of the arts.

A redesigned food section called FEAST, which now shows expanded reviews of new restaurants and bars; Sara Deseran's culinary column, Famished; Sauced, an insider's guide to the S.F. drinking life; and hyperlocal picks from well-fed natives.

A new STYLE/DESIGN section called THE LOOKER that includes all the latest store openings, sales, and product debuts; interviews with fashion and design tastemakers; exclusive first looks at newly designed homes, offices, and public spaces; and In the Make, a monthly column devoted to local artists and their work spaces.
